We could not find this formula on an official NUST page online. It is the formula published consistently by Pakistani test-prep platforms. Confirm it in the NUST prospectus.
How the NUST aggregate is calculated
The NUST Entry Test (NET) carries 75% of the merit, so the test decides most of your aggregate. NET is 200 marks. Because NET is usually taken before the full FSc result, you can enter your FSc Part 1 marks and Part 1 total.
Closing merit: NUST publishes merit positions (your rank), not closing aggregates, so we do not list a closing aggregate here. Check your position on the NUST admissions portal after each merit list.
Worked example
Matric 1000/1100, FSc 950/1100 and NET 160/200:
- Matric: 1000 ÷ 1100 × 10 = 9.0909
- FSc: 950 ÷ 1100 × 15 = 12.9545
- NET: 160 ÷ 200 × 75 = 60.0000
Aggregate = 82.0455%
Each extra NET point (out of 200) adds about 0.375%; each extra FSc mark (out of 1100) adds 0.014%.
