UET Taxila's calculator gives the weights but not the ECAT total; 400 is the published ECAT total. Its older FAQ says HSSC Part-I marks are used, so enter Part-I marks out of 550 if you have them.
How the UET Taxila aggregate is calculated
UET Taxila's official merit calculator uses SSC 17%, HSSC 50%, entry test 33% for BS engineering and BS computer science, and SSC 30%, HSSC 70% for BS mathematics and BS physics, which have no entry test. The engineering test is ECAT, out of 400.
Like UET Lahore, UET Taxila's FAQ says first-year (HSSC Part-I) marks are used. If you have them, enter Part-I marks with a total of 550.
Worked example
Engineering / CS
Matric 1000/1100, FSc 950/1100 and ECAT 320/400:
- Matric: 1000 ÷ 1100 × 17 = 15.4545
- FSc: 950 ÷ 1100 × 50 = 43.1818
- ECAT: 320 ÷ 400 × 33 = 26.4000
Aggregate = 85.0364%
Each extra ECAT point (out of 400) adds about 0.083%; each extra FSc mark (out of 1100) adds 0.045%.
Maths / physics
Matric 1000/1100 and FSc 950/1100:
- Matric: 1000 ÷ 1100 × 30 = 27.2727
- FSc: 950 ÷ 1100 × 70 = 60.4545
Aggregate = 87.7273%
Each extra FSc mark (out of 1100) adds 0.064%.
UET Taxila aggregate questions
What is the UET Taxila aggregate formula?
Engineering and CS: Matric 17% + FSc 50% + ECAT 33%. BS Maths and Physics: Matric 30% + FSc 70%.
Is UET Taxila's formula the same as UET Lahore's?
Yes for engineering: both use 17/50/33 with ECAT. See the UET Lahore aggregate calculator.
Do BS Maths and BS Physics need ECAT?
No. UET Taxila's calculator uses only Matric (30%) and FSc (70%) for these programs.
